The Churchill Hotel - Location. Built in 1906, the Churchill Hotel was originally an apartment house and now serves business travelers and vacationers in Washington, D.C. A $10 million dollar renovation was completed in December 2007 which updated the entire hotel while respecting the property's historic integrity. Guests enter into a sunken lounge featuring crown molding and wooden columns. The hotel's study contains a computer, high speed Internet access and a printer. Named after Sir Winston Churchill's estate, the Chartwell Grill is well known for its crab cakes and steaks. The hotel includes an on site fitness center featuring marble floors, soft lighting and soothing classical music. The hotel also offers discounted passes to a nearby health club.
