It is located in a beautiful urban park of 163 acres in the heart of the nation's capital. Although there are several entrances to the National Zoo, during Homeland Security Orange Threat Level, the only reliable entrance is at Connecticut Avenue. At other times you may find entrances on the east side near Rock Creek Park, and at the intersection of Harvard Street and Adams Mill Road.
